Lot Title:
1856-O NGC UNC details/artificial toning.
Description:
Far from unattractive, the toning incorporates shades of leafy green along with pastel blue and pink, and on the obverse, the pattern isn't entirely unlike that of folded tissue-paper. This side along might well pass as original all by itself, but some dramatic crimson-gold completely blankets the reverse and seems a bit "off". Nonetheless, the technical aspirations for the coin itself speak to very strong quality, with a needle-sharp strike and substantial luster throughout that is interrupted only by a few sparse hairlines.
