Lot Title:
1722 Rosa Americana Twopence, Period After REX, NGC XF-40 BN.
Description:
Attractive, frosty mahogany-brown patina spreads evenly across the entire coin, ensuring there is nothing to distract from excellent definition. Surface quality often suffers from as-made defects and such for these larger copper pieces, but for this example, only very tiny planchet voids appear at random on either side. Faint recent rub has revealed a couple of small shiny spots on the portrait, perhaps from careless album slide friction. (PCGS# 000149)
