(About The Images)
Washington quarters in five albums. Washington quarters in five albums.
Lot Title: Washington quarters in five albums.
Description: The Nickel-To-A-Doughnut Collection. Nearly the entire spectrum of Washington Quarters minted from 1932 through 2013-S shows up here, although later silver proofs are not included. While the bulk of this collection is comprised of the latter ultra-modern pieces, the value takes place literally on the first page of the first album, so highlights therein only are offered here. We list the following: 1932-D (MS-60/light hairlines), 1932-S (AU-58/light hairlines), 1934-D (MS-61), 1935-S (MS-63), 1936-D (MS-60/wiped), 1937-S (MS-63), and 1940-D (MS-63). Really, the first album could be listed as a highlight, as it represents obvious effort and patience in seeking out UNC coins. A number of early copper-nickel pieces display impressive tone. 1935-D appears to be whizzed, but represents the only obvious problem coin in the entire collection.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
