Lot Title:
1880 $20 PCGS Apparent VF-25/silked.
Description:
Avant Garde Collection. The silking process, sometimes used to retain integrity of a fragile note, can be difficult to reverse, with this rare FR# 309 showing plain evidence of the procedure. It's too bad, since this appears to have been a really nice, problem-free example with could easily have graded VF or better (PCGS suggests VF-25 "apparent").
