(About The Images)
1918-S PCGS MS-64. 1918-S PCGS MS-64.
Lot Title: 1918-S PCGS MS-64.
Description: A considerable layer of steam-grey patina takes on lavender undertones under moderate light, and provides some of the impetus for pleasing eye-appeal. Details look noticeably soft near the center of either side, and that likely plays a role in limiting the grade to MS-64. Very few marks can be seen, though a couple of tiny carbon specks have been flailed into the obverse right field. (PCGS# 006576)

1918-S PCGS MS-64.
Captain Green Collection. Steam-grey patina dominates the surface, excepted by a single dark ebony spot at the bottom of the reverse. Early branch-mint Walkers nearly always lack full central...
596The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$2,600.00
1918-S PCGS MS-64.
Bud's Walker Duplicates. Slightly soft central details foreshadow problems at the San Francisco mint in subsequent decades, though the strike is quite decent for a branch-mint production and had no...
529The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$2,600.00
1918-S PCGS MS-64.
Satin luster is almost shockingly nice for a San Francisco half-dollar of the 'teens, as it ebbs and flows with lovely silvery sheen. For that matter, this is a fairly well struck coin, with some...
792The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$725.00
1918-S NGC MS-62.
Far nicer appeal than expected of MS-62 is borne by this very nice 1918-S half. Although the strike certainly falls a bit short of being complete, this is hardly unexpected of the date, and one must...
693The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$1,350.00
1918-S NTC MS-65.
Substantial weakness of strike is characteristic of the obverse of this early mintmarked Walking Liberty half-dollar issue, but this coin features lovely, glistening mint luster and better detail...
655The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$180.00
1918-S AU-50.
Milky white original mint bloom covers 100% of this better date Walker. Lurking under the bloom are clean fields and strong AU detail.
620The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$1,750.00
1918-S PCGS MS-63.
A solid MS-63 Walker that is blazing white and dripping with luster. It is well struck and has minimal marks for the grade. There is not one hint of toning anywhere on this coin, it is PQ and...
