Lot Title:
|
1938 P, D, S Arkansas, NGC MS-65, PCGS MS-65 (green label), and NGC MS-65, respectively.
|
Description:
|
Eunice Peters Estate. Same dates succumb immediately to very different looks for this 1938-PDS Arkansas trio. The P-mint has become absolutely doused in rich crimson-gold patina everywhere, placing the coin among premium-quality peers. The D-mint shows nearly white surfaces splashed with sunrise-gold toning at the extreme obverse left. Finally, perhaps best of all, the S-mint shows an extensive complex rust-gold toning pattern that exhibits some speckled character on the obverse, and deep saturation on both sides. Three coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

While the Denver coin displays subtle brilliance beneath faintly grey patination, the Philadelphia and San Francisco coins are a bit more subdued. In all three cases, the grades seem to be defined... |

1938 Arkansas P, D, and S Set. NGC

All three of these coins are blazing white and free of distractions. The Philadelphia and San Francisco examples grade MS-64, and the Denver is an MS-63. |
