Lot Title:
1946 P, D, S through 1951 P, D, S Booker T. Washington, all PCGS and NGC MS-65 or MS-66.
Description:
Eunice Peters Estate. The first six years' worth of Booker T. Washington half-dollars covering all three mints comprises this group, and every single coin has been certified by either NGC or PCGS. 1948-D, 1948-S, 1951-D, and 1951-S have all been graded MS-66, with the rest meeting MS-65 standards, although quite frankly, a number of pieces are in older slabs and could upgrade today. The 1951 trio exhibits the least amount of toning, and the coins seem unusually nice for their respective grades. 1946, 1946-D, and 1949-S probably show the nicest toning overall in this eighteen coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
