Lot Title:
1896-S PCGS MS-64.
Description:
Wine And Dine Collection. 38 graded MS-64, 22 higher at PCGS. Very well struck, with exceptionally well delineated elements in the wreath on the reverse. Both sides exhibit lovely powder-grey toning, with hints of rose-gold iridescence widely tinting the central areas. As with other silver series, 1896-S represents a difficult date for a collection of dimes, given an initial mintage of 575-thousand coins -- low by comparison to other Barber dime mintage levels. (PCGS# 004811)
