(About The Images)
1927-D PCGS MS-64. 1927-D PCGS MS-64.
Lot Title: 1927-D PCGS MS-64.
Description: Mel Smythe Collection. Exceptional luster flashes around the fields and provides ravishing eye-appeal normally reserved for dollars of the gem level. 1927-D proves to be elusive at MS-64, with many examples dulled through the years by aggressive dip treatments, though that is clearly not the case here. Low magnification shows that some delicate, speckled greyish toning filters through the fields, and a handful of delicate luster grazes appear here and there on and around Liberty's portrait. (PCGS# 007371)

853The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$280.00
1927-D ANACS MS-63.
The ANACS MS-63 assessment seems to be perfectly aligned with any competent grading standard, reflecting a bright, shimmering new coin with loads of luster. Naturally, some small handling marks...
942The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$825.00
1927-D PCGS MS-64+.
Obverse quality seems to be definitely at the GEM MS-65 level, since a metric ton of original luster swoops and swirls across that side, embellished by sharp details. The reverse is a little subdued...
881The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$550.00
1927-D PCGS MS-64.
Silvery bright and devoid of toning, with booming luster and strike quality that is noticeably sharper than usual. The mintmark appears to be nicely repunched. A rim ding at 8:00 on the reverse is...
659The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$600.00
1927-D PCGS MS-64.
Mossy-gold toning has developed across the surfaces in an unusually mottled toning pattern, particularly on the reverse, where veins of russet-bronze color branch into the fields in a complex,...
773The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$500.00
1927-D and 1928 Peace dollars.
A pair of better Peace dollars, one being the key date. The 1927-D grades MS-61 and is fully lustrous, with just a shallow scrape on the neck and a trivial hairline mark on Liberty's jawbone deciding...
