Lot Title:
1838 (B-1) PCGS AU-50.
Description:
Very substantial luster roams the fields and projects the eye-appeal of a coin grading a few points higher, especially for the reverse which seems to merit AU-55 by itself. While not exactly stripped of all original patina, one would be hard pressed to believe that silver nearing two-hundred years of age could remain this brilliant, but at least both sides have had time to recover some sparkling brick-gold toning that gathers density toward the edges. Only trivial loss of can be attributed to wear, as this is just such a nice, lightly circulated type coin. (PCGS# 005357)

New World Estate. Many bidders will think this is an undergraded quarter, as the gleaming frost-white luster and attractive silvery presence have the appearance of at least an extra point in grade. ... |
