Description:

A better group of Seated Liberty half-dollars with no duplication. Grade estimates for each are listed as follows: 1843 (XF-45, fantastic shattered reverse die, this coin alone is worth the price of admission), 1848-O (XF, trivial rim ticks at 3:00 and 9:00), 1859-O (VF-35, really attractive neon-violet field toning surrounds golden-beige devices), 1863-S (VF-25, darker obverse with a pale streak), 1865-S (XF, pretty subtle album toning with dark grey streaks), 1869-S (XF, lovely pastel album toning), and 1870-S (XF, pale platinum-grey with an obverse toning spot). From the standpoint of promising eye-appeal at basically the XF level, it could be tough to beat this seven coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
