Lot Title:
Twelve commemoratives with Kraft envelopes.
Description:
The consignor asserts that these were put away into Kraft envelopes by his aunt in 1948, and based upon the context of other items provided, we believe it. The lovely typewritten and hand-lettered envelopes provide inestimable charm to this even dozen commemorative half-dollar lot. The following are included: 1935-PDS Arkansas (Choice or better UNC), 1946-D Booker T. Washington (MS-63), 1947-PDS Booker T. Washington (very choice UNC), 1936 Cleveland (MS-63), 1946 Iowa (MS-65, scattered bits of toning), 1925 Stone Mountain (MS-64), 1935-S Texas (MS-65), and 1927 Vermont (MS-64, mottled toning). Unless toning has been indicated, the coins are all white due to enclosure within protective clear plastic pouches inside the envelopes. Twelve coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
