(About The Images)
1885 NGC PF-64 BN. 1885 NGC PF-64 BN.
Lot Title: 1885 NGC PF-64 BN.
Description: French Connection Estate. A veritable magic carpet of exceedingly deep, thick, rich patina utterly engulfs the entire coin and provides an olive-ebony countenance that entails many long, patient decades of vintage storage. With but a single quick glance, any potential bidder can instantly see that this proof Indian has never been conserved or altered in any way. Under natural light, the undertone reposes with incredibly gorgeous emerald-gem radiance that must be seen and appreciated. Assigned an almost criminally inadequate PF-64 (BN) grade by NGC, to one segment of highly astute observers, the eye-appeal of this humble jewel sails way off the charts, far outside the confines of mere "technical" grade, and right into the realm of the Scotsman Cataloger's Choice award. I don't give a hoot about whatever it was that limited the grade in NGC's eyes, whether it be some minor carbon flecks on the reverse or... well... whatever they think they saw. Bid on this coin if you are the kind of collector that appreciates truly natural beauty over numbers in a grade. (PCGS# 002342)

1885 PCGS MS-64 RB.
Appears fully Red and with surfaces that would easily qualify for MS-65, or possibly MS-66, if not for the couple of toning flecks seen on the obverse. The reverse is simply splendid.
