Lot Title:
1866 NGC PF-65 RB.
Description:
French Connection Estate. Precisely struck with evidence of cameo effect on the obverse. An interesting blue-grey film tints the reverse but comes into view only during certain viewing angles, and apparently plays no diminishing role with regard to grade. The obverse shows no such curiosity and, in fact, seems to be remarkably free of distraction as would be hoped of the gem level. Perhaps a few scattered carbon flecks will elicit attention, but not enough are present to distract. (PCGS# 003631)

Richly toned in hues of brown and blue, the surfaces still radiate a good amount of golden orange iridescence as well. A minimal number of flecks, along with sharp design element delineation, make... |
