This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1040The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$625.00
1903 McKinley PCGS MS-64.
A few minor copper spots stray onto the reverse and may affect the grade. Generally pleasing with slightly glossy satin texture.
1041The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$700.00
1903 McKinley NGC MS-64.
Undeniably choice, with zero copper spots and but a single contact mark noted off to the obverse right. Perhaps worthy of upgrade consideration, since the 1903 McKinley dollar jumps considerably in...
1042The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$1,350.00
1903 McKinley NGC MS-66.
Generally pale, with moonbeam-gold patina layered thinly over extremely energetic luster that shimmers through all the fields. Neither side suffers any distraction, with no spots or hairlines visible...
1348The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$975.00
1903 McKinley, and a 1915-S Pan-Pac, both PCGS MS-62 (rattler).
Samuel Robertson Gold Consignment. Neither coin presents any obvious reason for the lower MS-62 grade, though the reverse of the McKinley does exhibit minor haze. Perhaps minor hairlines affected...
1349The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$700.00
1903 McKinley. PCGS MS-64 CAC.
An unencumbered coin, there isn't any obvious deficiency to be located on either side. McKinley's cheek, and indeed his entire portrait appears to be as free from marks as it can be, though both...
1082The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$625.00
1903 McKinley. PCGS MS-64.

1083The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$725.00
1903 McKinley. PCGS MS-64 CAC.
Odds that the surfaces retain vintage quality increase with the ongoing presence of a moderate copper spot next to McKinley's lapel, and another at 2:00 of the reverse. Slightly prooflike from arm's...
1084The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$675.00
1903 McKinley. PCGS MS-64 CAC.
St. Louis held an annual exposition from the 1850s through 1902, but canceled the 1903 event to make room for the World's Fair. However, delays brought about by the desire to include more states and...

952The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$600.00
1903 McKinley and 1903 Jefferson circulated/impaired.
The 1903 Jefferson dollar is ex-Stack's, The Orlando Sale, 1/5/2009: 1537; glossy from a fairly recent cleaning, with AU-58 details. The 1903 McKinley is cleaned on the obverse, but downright...
953The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$1,150.00
1903 McKinley ANACS MS-62, and a 1917 McKinley ANACS MS-62.
Slight rub on McKinley's cheekbone for the 1903 bars any chance whatsoever of upgrade. The reverse is fully UNC, but slightly hairlined. The 1917 displays fine, hazy hairlines that crisscross into...

1903 McKinley. PCGS MS-64.

Mint-green iridescence dances playfully across each side, and provides a fine counterpoint to the predominant khaki-gold color. A well struck piece whose grade is determined primarily by a couple of...

688The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$500.00
1903 McKinley. NGC MS-62.
In spite of myriad wispy elfin hairlines across the obverse portrait -- no doubt slide marks, the MS-62 grade seems very conservative for this clean and attractive McKinley. Of course, that may be...

1903 McKinley. PCGS MS-62 (OGH).
A pale lemon-gold coin that can seem unfairly undergraded at first glance. Closer inspection reveals a moderate patch of vertical hairlines in both obverse fields. Housed in a PCGS green-label...

1903 McKinley. PCGS MS-64.
From the standpoint of handling marks, nothing more noticeable than a couple of the most trivial of slide marks are visible on the cheek, as this has the appearance of a pristine gold coin. Of more...
1171The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,700.00
1903 McKinley. NGC MS-65.
Pale yellow color is relieved by a couple of subtle copper spots on the President's shoulder, and a few more trivial spots appear on the reverse. Clean surfaces exude terrific mint luster.
1092The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$925.00
1903 McKinley commemorative gold dollar, NGC MS-63
A rather attractive olive-gold example of this familiar commemorative issue that faces up as a somewhat finer piece than what is indicated by the grade. Carefully hidden near the slain President's...

1211The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$575.00
1903 McKinley. NGC MS-62.
An unusually nice coin that was denied an MS-63 grade by a thin, shallow vertical mark in the left obverse field. The left rim is also superficially abraded. Appears much nicer than the assigned...
1212The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$800.00
1903 McKinley. NGC MS-63.
Frosty, with an average strike. At first glance, the entire coin seems surprisingly unabraded and contact free for just a Choice grade, but there is a superficial scrape at the top of the...

1903 McKinley. MS-63+.

1093The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$1,650.00
1903 McKinley. PCGS MS-64.
The sole reason this coin wasn't graded MS-65 (or even MS-66), is because of a light line on McKinley's cheek. The fields show way fewer signs of contact than you would normally encounter with the...
