Lot Title:
Six Morgan dollars and a Peace dollar, circulated and certified.
Description:
Dispensing with the odd man out, a 1928 Peace dollar grades PCGS XF-40 with deeply original graphite-grey patina, and all remaining coins are from the Morgan dollar series. These we list as follows: 1883-S (NGC AU-55, clearly nicer than the usual beat up examples of this date), 1886-O (NGC AU-53, likely prooflike when newly struck), 1888-S (PCGS AU-55, tons of luster but a black splotch on the reverse), 1896-O (PCGS AU-55, steely-grey), 1900-S (PCGS AU-50, powdery toast-gold patina), and 1921-S (ANACS XF-45/cleaned). Seven coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
