Lot Title:
Complete set in Capital Plastics holders, Poor to VG.
Description:
The "big three" keys are included here, making this a complete Barber quarter set - one of the most difficult sets to accomplish even in low grade. Addressing keys right away, they are given as: 1896-S (G-6/reverse glue residue), 1901-S (Fair/obverse scratched/rim dings), and 1913-S (G-4/reverse glue residue). The mintmark for 1901-S is just barely discernible, but it is unquestionably a genuine coin. The balance of the collection features coins in the AG to Good range mostly, though a few scattered pieces rise above that (see the 1892-O, 1904-O, and 1910 for starters) while others are only Fair (or lower), and for some reason, the 1898-O has been severely scratched. On the other hand, nobody would complain about cleaned coins for this set, as basically every single piece appears to be original. Housed in custom hand-labeled Capital Plastics holders.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
