A few more ticks than average might be sprinkled across the obverse, but all of them are tiny, helping them to remain unobtrusive to overall eye-appeal. The chocolate-brown color looks unusually nice for the date, since 1871 cents often show discolored or ugly planchets, and this one is caramel smooth. (PCGS# 002100)
