Gentle orange coloration also appears on the right side of the reverse. (PCGS# 007940)

1005The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$450.00
1909 NGC MS-62.
Young Bonnie Lass Collection. Carrot-gold patina endows the highpoint details, contrasting gently with overall pale gold color. A glittering example, sharpness shows only average definition,...
1062The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$500.00
1909 PCGS MS-62.
Slightly bright with a pale countenance, yet reasonably attractive lemon-gold color overall. Though spotless and relatively unmarked, a singular tick on the Indian's cheek probably connotes the...
900The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$427.00
1909 NGC MS-62.
Deeper recesses of the Indian's portrait show outstanding, thick matte frost and a hint of lilac-gold coloration. The strike overall looks a trifle blunt, and several small dimples dot the reverse.
816The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,200.00
1909 PCGS MS-61, 1909 PCGS MS-62, and a 1915 PCGS MS-62.
1909 in MS-61 does have rather dull surfaces, while the MS-62 features surprisingly attractive matte surfaces. This latter coin would grade much higher if not for a singular obverse pinscratch. 1915...
817The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,500.00
1909, 1910, and 1927, all PCGS MS-62.
1909 is a blazing, well struck beauty that may have upgrade potential, given the clean surfaces. 1910 has only average definition and slightly dull surfaces, while 1927 shows off gorgeous luster, but...
818The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,150.00
1909 PCGS MS-63.
Strike or luster? Grade or eye-appeal? Ginger or Mary Ann? Why settle for either when you can have them all with this 1909 quarter-eagle? Well, OK, maybe being shipwrecked on Gilligan's Island is...
407The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$725.00
1909 NGC AU-58, 1914 NGC AU-58, and a 1926 NGC UNC details/improperly...
The commercial grade equivalent for all these is "AU", given that the last is allegedly an impaired UNC. 1909 is a really sharply detailed slider that could easily pose as mint-state, while 1914 is...
1035The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$450.00
1909 PCGS MS-62.
Possibly graded conservatively, the obverse overall seems unusually clean for the MS-62 level, while the reverse is about average. The most likely grading constraints may be a lack of luster on the...
1036The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$1,350.00
1909 NGC MS-63.
Quality is visibly superior to the average coin at the same MS-63 grade. The obverse fields and even the Indian's portrait are free from marks and abrasions, and the reverse is just as clean, flecked...
1037The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$2,100.00
1909 PCGS MS-64.
Clean surfaces exhibit a dusting of grey-gold patina, and pleasing very fine matte texture that evens out the prominent cartwheel effect. Indeed, that handsome luster is unusually nice for a coin...
803The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$900.00
1909 AU/scratched, 1911 AU/scratched, and 1928 AU/scratched.
Diminutive gold quarter-eagles make up this trio, and none have been certified. Included are: 1909 (BU), 1911 (AU), and 1928 (XF). Three coin lot.
804The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$525.00
1909 and 1913, both PCGS AU-58.
The 1909 might be mildly cleaned, while the 1913 is surprisingly frosty for a "slider" example of the issue. Both of these quarter-eagles are graded AU-58 by PCGS. Two coin lot.
805The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,200.00
1909 and 1914-D AU.
AU is a conservative assessment for either of these strongly detailed Indian quarter-eagles. The 1909 could grade into the BU level, and the 1914-D displays very original surfaces and plenty of...
980The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$270.00
1909 NGC AU-58.
With glittering surfaces and surprisingly clean fields, the obverse of this 1909 Indian quarter-eagle has all the properties of a mint-state grade. It is on the reverse that discoloration on the...
981The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,150.00
1909 PCGS MS-63.
Seldom is the word "spectacular" congruent with an MS-63 grade, yet this 1909 quarter-eagle very nearly deserves the appellation. Marvelous, deep amber-gold luster paints a lovely backdrop for the...
982The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$2,200.00
1909 PCGS MS-64.
Very attractive surface quality benefits from a planchet that was relatively smooth prior to striking, and either side displays hardly any evidence of the tiny abrasions that almost always affect...
739The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$700.00
1909 MS-62.
Vintage surfaces speak to fully original quality, and fewer of the typical abrasions are seen on either side.
740The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$1,250.00
1909 NGC MS-63.
Details are especially sharp for what is generally considered a common issue in the quarter-eagle series. Lusty flowline texture in the reverse fields provides visual appeal to that side, and the...
741The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$1,100.00
1909 NGC MS-63.
Very bright overall, and reasonably free from abrasions.
751The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$650.00
Pair of 1909 NGC MS-61.
A pair of 1909 Indian quarter-eagles, each recently graded MS-61 by NGC. One of the coins seems somewhat better preserved than the other in this two coin lot.
1092The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$2,100.00
1909 PCGS MS-64.
Just outstanding surface quality is exemplified by abrasion-free fields and generous mint frost suffusing this entire coin. Even for MS-64, this is a very exceptional piece! All that would seem to...
875The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$475.00
1909 PCGS MS-62.
Though common in grades of MS-61 and below, 1909 becomes a little better at the present MS-62 level, and at least triples in value at the next grade level. The present glittering example is...
876The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$1,950.00
1909 PCGS MS-64.
Fairly radiant luster glitters off this pretty little Indian, which is lightly toned with a thin patina of royal gold. Noticeably free of marks, as one expects of the PCGS MS-64 grade.
922The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$290.00
1909 NGC MS-61.
Moderately abraded, as the grade would predict.
923The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$575.00
1909 and 1911 Indian quarter-eagles, NGC MS-61.
The 1909 sparkles more than its somewhat duller companion 1911. Two coin lot.
924The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$600.00
1909 NGC MS-62.
Struck better than average, particularly on the obverse. Some appealing mint frost appears on both sides.
925The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$5,000.00
1909 PCGS MS-65.
An opulent orange-gold iridescence envelopes the glistening surfaces of this minimally marked and prominently struck quarter-eagle.

Enameled 1909 Indian quarter-eagle
Approximately two carats of diamonds surround a mounted and colorfully enameled 1909 Indian quarter-eagle coin. The coloring is quite attractive, and this is a handsome piece of numismatic jewelry.
959The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$575.00
1909, 1914-D, and 1915. AU-58.
This trio will surely intrigue anyone desirous to form a collection of this favorable series. The 1909 has a blush of orange over mattelike surfaces, while the 1914-D has a pale yellow glow -- and...
960The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$450.00
1909 NGC MS-62.
Enveloping this issue's surfaces is an exuberant orange hue. The few minuscule marks and flecks present are quite sparse for the grade on this robustly struck Quarter Eagle.
961The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$600.00
1909 NGC MS-62.
A splendid visual aspect is portrayed by this date's mattelike surfaces with handsome golden orange nuances. The marks are trivial, and the details are prominent.
962The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$525.00
1909 MS-62+++.
This premium quality scarce date is just a whisper away from the next grade level. It glows with a luxurious yellow-gold luster. A few faint hairlines are noted on the frosty surfaces of this...
936The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$550.00
1909 and 1911. MS-60++.
This well-matched duo displays a gleaming orange-gold surface quality. Minute ticks and faint hairlines are to be expected, but are minimized by their satinlike appearance. Except for a slight...

1909 NGC MS-62.
Abounding with luster, this bold strike displays vivid gold-orange surfaces. Any contact ticks or hairlines discerned using a glass are congruent for this assigned grade.
384The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,800.00
1909 NGC MS-63.
This premium quality scarce date example projects a rose-gold vibrancy that envelops its frosty surfaces. An extremely bold strike with intense design definition.
1020The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$190.00
1909 NGC AU-58.
A tone-free issue with bright, yellow-gold surfaces. Most of the luster is intact on this piece, and it shows traces of wear only on the highest design elements.
1021The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$625.00
1909 ANACS MS-60.
This bright Quarter Eagle has minimal marks and no major distractions. This is a PQ coin that should demand a premium.

1909 NGC MS-61.
Original and free from toning. A solid coin for the grade.
1023The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$0.00
