(About The Images)
1855 Upright 55 (N-4) NGC MS-64 RB. 1855 Upright 55 (N-4) NGC MS-64 RB.
Lot Title: 1855 Upright 55 (N-4) NGC MS-64 RB.
Description: Luster revolves steadily beneath warm red-bronze patina, with the obverse displaying some scattered carbon spots. A sizable planchet flake above ONE has toned along with rest of the coin, thereby providing no unnecessary distraction. Look for some tiny raised dots on Liberty's portrait to aid in attribution. (PCGS# 999999)

168The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$1,000.00
1855 Upright 55 NGC MS-65 RB.
Sensational gem red luster whirls and twirls about the obverse, and were both sides this shade of blazing brick-red, it would nearly be some kind of wonder coin. As it is, the reverse is not red at...
293The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$350.00
1855 NGC MS-63 BN.
Seldom does copper in only MS-63 exhibit this level of cartwheel luster, and that despite the deep brown that shimmers across 80% of the obverse. Delicate brick-red undertones accentuate the...
355The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$260.00
1855 (Upright 55, N-8) PCGS MS-63BN.
Attribution of the "upright 55" is made easy by looking at where the lowest curl points, which in this case is directly between "85" in the date. The PCGS insert does not state N-8. The obverse...
186The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$600.00
1855 Upright 55, N-4. NGC MS-65 BN.
N-4 is one of the easiest common die-marriages to attribute for 1855, narrowed quickly in attribution by the upright digits, and further defined by the raised die lumps quickly noticed on the...
187The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$250.00
1855 "Upright 55" PCGS MS-63 BN.
Fascinating flowline texture surrounds the fields, contributing to prominent cartwheel effect. Clearly uncirculated and possessing exemplary chocolate-brown patina, even Liberty's cheek retains mint...
188The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$270.00
1855 "upright 55" AU and 1855 "slanted 55, knob on ear" XF.
Large-cents for 1855 have two distinct logotypes for the final digits, upright 5s, and slanted 5s (which we might call "italicized" today), and both are represented here. The 1855 "upright 55" grades...
204The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$390.00
1855 Slanted 55, PCGS MS-62 BN.
Oxidation of the surfaces probably obscures some cartwheel effect, but underlying mint luster peeps through areas of less patina. An abrasion is seen between the third and fourth stars.
296The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$3,200.00
1855 NGC MS-65 Red.
Have you ever seen a large cent this red? Most new, right off the press coppers do not display the brilliance, luster, or depth of red that this beauty has. Red is an understatement of the red this...
272The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$525.00
1855 MS-63 Red.
A vibrant red bathes this specimen's exquisite lustrous surfaces. This splendid example depicts a couple trivial marks on Liberty, one on her cheek, and one on her neck. Also, a delicate scrape...
273The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$775.00
1855 Slanting 5s. MS-63 RB.
The dramatic Red aspect of this specimen complements its superb lustrous surfaces. A few speckles and minuscule ticks occupy the fields, but are for the most part scattered and not obtrusive. The...
278The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$750.00
1855 NGC MS-65 RB.
A glowing orange-red coloration with just a delicate mellowing and no trace of brown. The exquisite satinlike luster projects a commendable eye appeal. Some scattered speckles are ascribed for...
