Lot Title:
1853-C PCGS Genuine (code 98/AU detail/graffiti)
Description:
Jackson's Branch Mint Gold, mintage: 11,515. At minimum, the coin shows AU-55 details, gaining eye-appeal from lovely matte luster that works steadily through the fields. 'Tis a minor point, but the consignor expected a "scratched" disclaimer from PCGS, earning instead a "graffiti" notation due to a small X scratched in the field beneath the portrait. The reverse looks flawless for our details assessment. (PCGS# 007522)

Typical weakness near the center of the reverse, but with copious amounts of original mint luster still visible on both sides of this extinct mint issue (Mark). |

1853-C AU-55.

Lovely golden surfaces on this pleasing Charlotte issue. There are a few tiny nicks on the rim, but the detail is strong. |
