Price history for items of the same classification:
Lot #AuctionCurrent Bid or Hammer PriceDescription
978The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$1,700.00
1897 NGC MS-61.
Heavily abraded on the obverse, and even the reverse shows a rather high number of tiny little contact points. Of course, they said the same thing about Jimmy Hoffa, and look where that got him.
936The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,450.00
1897 PCGS MS-62.
A little more pale than what would be ideal, but neither side displays any copper spots or distractions. Minor abrading of Liberty's cheek is responsible for the MS-62 grade.
1157The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$700.00
1897 NGC MS-61.
Enlivened with a warm orange glow, this moderately marked and superbly struck issue is sure to delight the pursuer of a handsome type issue.
1043The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$600.00
1897 PCGS MS-62.
A lovely orange-gold aspect radiates from this Philadelphia issue's velvetlike surfaces. There's a light flourish of contact ticks, but none are obtrusive to the visual aspect of this sharply struck...
1044The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$625.00
1897 ICG MS-62.
A glistening yellow-gold emanates from this date's glowing lustrous surfaces. Minimally marked and handsomely struck.
1205The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$650.00
1897 NGC MS-62.
A really neat $20 Liberty with semi-prooflike surfaces. The color is awesome, and there are minimal marks for the grade. The coin is housed in an old NGC holder.
