Lot Title:
1878 PCGS PF-62 (green label).
Description:
At some viewing angles, the coin appears to be extremely dark. But catch a beam of light just right, and immediately, a cornucopia of iridescent colors jumps into view, as the mirrored fields exhibit deeply saturated cobalt-grey, magenta-jade and purple. Close examination suggests very little cameo contrast, if any, but the dusky color pattern would prevent much contrast regardless. Some odd whitish stuff has accumulated within "TES OF AMER" on the reverse. (PCGS# 005306)
