(About The Images)
1892-CC (VAM-8A) PCGS MS-63. 1892-CC (VAM-8A) PCGS MS-63.
Lot Title: 1892-CC (VAM-8A) PCGS MS-63.
Description: VAM-8A features a decent die clash, but more importantly, the grotesque die-chip that distorts the "2" in the date cannot be missed. It's probably an underrated VAM! This example features slick, energetic luster that provides a bit of semi-prooflike appeal, simply because the lightly frosted portrait contrasts subtly with the revolving cartwheels. Each side is fairly well struck except at the very center, where planchet striations were not effaced by the dies. (PCGS# 007214)

911The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$725.00
1892-CC, slider.
Wiped lightly at one time, the obverse right field still displays some delicate hairlines, and when combined with the "unc-ish" overall appearance, the demeanor becomes that of a classic "slider". ...
912The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$1,400.00
1892-CC NGC MS-62.
Green Eggs and Ham Consignment. Assessment of MS-62 frequently signifies numerous abrasions for this issue, but Liberty's cheek actually shows rather cleanly in this case, with none of the large...
913The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$1,150.00
1892-CC NGC MS-62.
At least three strong die-clashes can be discerned by the lines to the right of Liberty's portrait, and just right of the eagle's portrait, and the clashing led to some fine die breaks through the...
914The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$1,950.00
1892-CC NGC MS-63.
Although not strictly semi-prooflike, white frost paints the portrait and establishes unexpected cameo character. Absolutely blazing luster races around the fields and produces excellent eye-appeal,...
915The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$2,300.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-64.
Checkered Collection. The large bagmarks and abrasions usually seen are basically absent from this memorable Carson City product. Instead, the cheek displays just modest contact points that hardly...
839The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$650.00
1892-CC NGC AU-55.
Likely near-prooflike as it left the dies, each side still displays remnants of cameo contrast despite five points of circulation friction in the fields. Nearly untoned overall with an appearance...
920The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$1,400.00
1892-CC NGC MS-61.
It sometimes seems as if 1892-CC dollars were struck at the MS-61 grade level, since they often come "baggy" like this, with really light contact only... just a lot of it. Still, this cotton-white...
1007The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$500.00
1892-CC VF-35, and an 1893-O VF-25, both PCGS.
For the collector who likes the affordability of moderately circulated grades, these PCGS dollars are perfectly suited. 1892-CC shows marvelous original quality for VF-35 including the most ideal...
788The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$1,200.00
1892-CC (VAM-4A) PCGS MS-63.
Attribution begins with the nicely doubled second "C" in the mintmark, as well as a die defect poking out the lower right of "9" in the date. It appears as if this particular VAM is always flatly...
789The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$2,000.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-64.
Surface quality is a touch better than average for MS-64, with no large abrasions at all, disturbances being limited to only tiny luster grazes scattered here and there. However, the cartwheel effect...
692The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$575.00
Two 1892-CC XF details/cleaned/pvc.
The XF grade level is nearly reached by each of these 1892-CC Morgan dollars, although cleaned surfaces will prevent such grade assessment in either case. Both coins appear to exhibit PVC...
693The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$725.00
1892-CC PCGS AU-55.
The flashy obverse has much luster remaining, and it appears this coin once has a semi-prooflike quality. Other than a scratch on Liberty's neck and above her bonnet, the overall appearance is quite...
694The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$450.00
1892-CC AU details/cleaned.
Barely enough luster remains to suggest AU details, although both sides are excessively white and errantly cleaned. Fortunately, a lack of abrasions shows that circulation was not too unkind, and...
695The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$850.00
1892-CC Uncirculated details/light hairlines.
Cynical observes will often assume that the presence of any hairlines whatsoever instantly means a coin has been cleaned, but often, if the hairlines are very sparse, the might well be an incidental...
696The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,200.00
1892-CC MS-60.
Due to lack of representation in the GSA hoard, many 1892-CC Morgan dollars found on the market have toned during the past century or so, and this example appears to be the beneficiary of storage in a...
697The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,250.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-63.
Beautiful beams of luster spangle with dazzling energy about the obverse, illuminating a fabulous strike, as well as a few minor abrasions that would be expected for the Choice level. Fine strands of...
698The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,800.00
1892-CC (VAM-10A) PCGS MS-64.
For 1892-CC, VAM-10 is a personal favorite of some collectors since it features a readily visible obverse digit, either a 2 or a 9, lost in the denticles beneath the date, and the "A" die state is...
813The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$500.00
1892-CC NGC VF details/cleaned, 1893 NGC XF-40, and 1903-S NGC VF-25.
Better date Morgan dollars are encapsulated in NGC holders, and all three are attractive coins overall. 1892-CC is graded VF/cleaned, and is simply a little too glossy to pass as original, but...
814The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,250.00
1892-CC NGC MS-63.
Perfectly graded, if not conservatively so, with shimmering luster and sharpness worthy of an even higher grade. Bidders will be pleased with the unexpectedly clean fields, and Liberty's cheek is...
815The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,400.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-63PL.
With respect to both numeric grade and surface designation, this 1892-CC, graded MS-63 PL by PCGS, is slightly better than average. Although the lovely white frost on Liberty's portrait displays...
619The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$1,300.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-63.
Housed in a PCGS green-label holder, the quality of this 1892-CC graded MS-63 promptly suggests conservative grading. Upon closer examination, a blemish beneath her eye and a luster graze floating in...
633The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$1,625.00
1892-CC MS-63.
Technical excellence hallmarks this Carson City in every way save one -- a smallish ashy-grey stain in front of Liberty's forehead. While your cataloger has chosen to use this as the impetus for a...
634The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$1,600.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-63PL.
Blinding white luster and an instructive strike team up with a prooflike appearance to furnish a Morgan dollar that seems at least one grade point nicer than the MS-63 PL grade offered by PCGS. Even...
996The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,200.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-63.
Interesting "pebbly" texture seems apparent at one's first glimpse of the obverse, though this effect is also partially the result of luster grazes atop the bright gold patina that graces much of this...
997The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$2,200.00
1892-CC NGC MS-64.
Readily evident prooflike character is particularly notable on the obverse, though moderate lavender-sienna tone occupies a significant portion of the fields and peripheral areas, subduing the...
786The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$2,450.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-64.
Blazing, silvery-bright multi-spoked cartwheel luster explodes off each side of this virtual gem with unexpected, crystal-clear brilliance, augmented by the blast-white fields and devices. Can more...
704The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$2,100.00
1892-CC REDFIELD MS-62.
MS-62 is certainly a more appropriate grade than the MS-65 indicated on the Paramount holder, but this is an attractive coin well beyond technical merits. An enchanting combination of bright...
705The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,275.00
1892-CC "VAM-10," PCGS MS-63.
Pure white satin brilliance revolves unimpeded around both sides, reflecting bright surfaces and beautiful cartwheel mint luster. The strike is exceptionally sharp, even above Liberty's ear, and every...
706The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,220.00
1892-CC REDFIELD MS-65.
Mint State 65 is indicated on the "Paramount International" slab, but your cataloger would suggest that a grade of MS-61 is more in keeping with current grading standards. Adding to the appeal is a...
713The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$1,250.00
1892-CC Morgan dollar, PCGS MS-63
A fantastic reverse is mated with an obverse whose scattering of tiny ticks and handling marks override the grade. Very bright and silvery with a terrific strike.
714The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$2,400.00
1892-CC Morgan dollar, PCGS MS-64
From the standpoint of grade, this 1892 Morgan dollar looks exactly like countless more-common issues graded MS-65 or higher, and there is no doubt that it was graded with caution by PCGS. Although...
715The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$2,200.00
1892-CC Morgan dollar, PCGS MS-64
Off-white with a bare tint of light gold color on the rims. A scribble of micro bagmarks appears on the nose and at the truncation of the bust, and on the eagle's breast, but there are no large...
818The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$2,300.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-64.
White, gossamer luster gently caresses all surfaces of this accurately graded Morgan dollar. Strike quality appears to be about average for the issue, though the surfaces are unusually clean and...
819The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$2,100.00
1892-CC PCGS MS-64.
Multiple die clashes have produced a couple of tines off of Liberty’s lips, and an array of zigzagging shadows behind her headdress. And as expected, much of Liberty’s portrait is outlined on the...
817The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$1,150.00
1892-CC NGC MS-62.
This specimen radiates a semi-cameo aspect with its delicate frosted motifs supported by rather mirrorlike fields. The visual effect of a few discerned delicate scuffs are diminished by its...
707The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$925.00
1892-CC MS-60.
Obviously not circulated and showing a semi-frosty appearance with lustrous fields. Great device detail, and there are no major marks on the surfaces.
708The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$1,350.00
1892-CC MS-63+.
Highly reflective fields are partially covered by attractive violet and russet tones. The devices are super strong and frosty white. There are minimal marks for the grade and no distractions.
882The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$310.00
1892-CC XF.
This is a nice, problem-free coin. I would bet that at some point in time its fields were at least semi-prooflike. The best thing about this coin is that it is original.
883The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$625.00
1892-CC NGC AU-53.
A delicate iridescent blush cloaks the surfaces of this popular Carson City date. A well-struck specimen with better than average luster for the assigned grade. The surfaces have a normal amount of...
884The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$675.00
1892-CC ANACS MS-60 DETAILS, ALTERED SURFACES.
Although it shows evidence of a light cleaning, it still retains some luster on its gleaming white surfaces. A slight array of toning speckles and faint marks are noted on this typically struck,...
885The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,000.00
1892-CC ANACS MS-61.
Somewhat prooflike, this crisp strike has frosty devices supported by reflective fields. The glistening surfaces minimize the effect the contact ticks and faint scuffs might have on its visual...
886The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$3,150.00
1892-CC PCI MS-65.
The only color on this coin is a breath of golden toning on the denticles of the reverse. The rest of this key date dollar is blazing white. Near-dripping luster can be observed on both the obverse...
829The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$310.00
1892-CC VF-35.
The design elements are strong for this popular Carson City Branch Mint issue. There are no detractions observed, and the piece has a very appealing light silver-gray aspect.
