Lot Title:
Five certified Bust half-dollars.
Description:
A quintet of bust half-dollars, two of them correctly attributed by the associated grading company. All are attractive mid- to upper-grade examples. Included with Overton varieties are: 1812/1 O-102 (PCGS VF-25, not attributed and PCGS didn't even bother to indicate the overdate, pastel steel-blue patina), 1818 O-107 (PCGS VF-25, not attributed, thin pale-grey patina), 1825 O-112 R.3 (PCGS XF-45, not attributed, perfectly graded and immensely original, with a nicely strike-doubled reverse), 1826 O-109 (PCGS XF-45, attributed, not as strong as expected on the obverse, but the reverse has much luster), and 1827 O-104 (NGC F-12, attributed). Five coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
