Lot Title:
1910-S PCGS MS-63.
Description:
Common in grades of AU and below, and even available in MS-60, the 1910-S half-eagle becomes a noticeably difficult acquisition at MS-63 and above, with status as a semi-key assured by its scarcity. This is true of all the "S" mint half-eagles in better grade. PCGS suggests 16 in MS-63 with 23 graded higher, a minuscule portion of the 770-thousand minted. Memorable grapefruit-orange coloration dominates this example, particularly on the obverse, which sees scarcely any relief from the dense coloration. One cannot question the original character of the surfaces! Affirming the "choice" grade, precise definition of the devices presents no signs of wear, and the Indian's cheek is virtually entirely free of the faint friction that accompanies most every sunken-relief gold coin in existence. (PCGS# 008519)

Here is a date that you just do not see in higher grades very often. This specimen has been graded MS-63 by SEGS. It has attractive color and no copper spots or major distractions. There are some... |

A nice coin that has unfortunately been lightly cleaned. It has nice detail and a strong mint mark. |
