Lot Title:
1897 NGC PF-64 CAMEO.
Description:
It certainly is a pleasure to see a certification company with the guts to proffer a "cameo" designation on a toned proof! In years past, they have shown a reluctance to do so, but this dime provides an instance where the thickly textured devices obviously contrast well with glistening fields. The obverse is well draped in dusky mustard-olive toning with bands of colorful iridescence emanating away from the center, while silvery brilliance is concentrated toward the center of the reverse and surrounded by an admixture of earthy rainbow tones.
