Lot Title:
1807 PCGS XF-45.
Description:
Dentilation is basically absent from either side, a function of the die-state that suggests regrinding of the dies, and the resultant weakening thereof that sometimes leads to undergrading of coins with soft details. However, plenty of luster is reminiscent of a commercial AU grade level, and a surprising amount of mint honey-gold color steadfastly clings to protected areas. Surfaces are only slightly glossy and reveal few defects, with an ancient branching hairline scratch attached to the end of Liberty's hair ribbon being probably the only distraction worthy of note. All other seen marks are rather small and unimportant. The reverse is rotated about 75 degrees, a common distinction of 1807 half-cents. (PCGS# 001104)
