Lot Title:
Partial Lincoln cent collection 1909 through 1940, including a VF 1909-S VDB, in a Whitman 9405 album.
Description:
1914-D and 1922 "plain" are absent, but the 1909-S VDB has very strong VF details netted against a very slightly cleaning, probably to remove surface deposits at one time. The coin is simply a commonsense VF-20, and 1931-S is similarly VF or better. 1909-VDB is a bright UNC, and some red/brown UNCs include 1930-D, 1937-D and 1938. Sadly, 1909-S has XF details, but the obverse is severely defaced. Look for some strongly detailed, original mintmarked cents in the teens and twenties!
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
