Lot Title:

Collection of Flying Eagle and Indian Head cents in a Whitman 9402 alum (1877 PCGS VF-25)
|
Description:
|
1877 is superior for the VF level, explaining the PCGS VF-25 assessment, with LIBERTY fully readable in spite of minor softness at IBE. Several other coins in the collection are worthy of note, such as 1864 L (VF/corrosion spots), 1869 (VF/corrosion spots), 1870 (F), 1871 (G but nice), 1872 (G-6 and also nice), 1908-S (VF), and 1909-S (F-15 and a little grungy but fully original). The 1877 all by itself probably makes up three-quarters of the total collection value, but even the lower valued coins add up quickly since quite a few have strong LIBERTY visible.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
