(About The Images)
1912 PCGS MS-62. 1912 PCGS MS-62.
Lot Title: 1912 PCGS MS-62.
Description: Solid low-contrast eye-appeal is a little better than MS-62 on the obverse. Widely spaced on the reverse, three thin hairline scratches run roughly parallel and must be the grade determinant, since there is nothing else to complain about at all. Nice quality! (PCGS# 007944)
Low Estimate: $450.00
High Estimate: $550.00

Price history for items of the same classification:
Lot #AuctionCurrent Bid or Hammer PriceDescription
1013The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$425.00
1912 NGC MS-62.
Young Bonnie Lass Collection. Excellent delineation of all details supports at least NGC's MS-62 grade, and each side shows ideal medium gold color. Unlike the typical example, this obverse shows...
1014The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$1,200.00
1912 PCGS MS-63.
Mile High Collection. An amazingly sharp strike seems almost out-of-place for a quarter-eagle Indian at the MS-63 level, but this example shows just about the maximum possible amount of definition. ...
937The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$290.00
1912 NGC MS-61.
Chantilly Lace Collection. Somewhat abraded on the reverse, though the obverse scarcely shows any sign of untoward contact. Straw-gold with adequate luster for MS-61.
413The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$270.00
1912 PCGS AU-58.
Scarcely inconsistent with MS-62 except for definite friction on the headband. A tiny hair is encapsulated next to the Indian's nose, presumably not a nose hair.
414The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$22,250.00
1912 NGC PF-66.
For the collector who treasures the innovative efforts of the mint during the early part of the last century, the matte-proof format is irresistible. And especially at a finely preserved level, the...
811The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$575.00
1912 NGC MS-62.
Impressively detailed even at the eagle's shoulder and certainly above average for MS-62. In fact, the fields are less abraded than expected of coins even two points higher in grade, but chances are...
812The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$1,200.00
1912 NGC MS-63.
1912 may not immediately ring in the ears as a better date, since it is a common Philadelphia issue in most U.S. series, but at the MS-63 level, the Indian quarter-eagle is elevated to somewhat better...
747The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$725.00
1912 MS-60, 1913 AU, and 1914-D AU/cleaned.
A trio of consecutive quarter-eagles dated 1912, 1913, and 1914-D. The latter appears to be lightly cleaned in this three coin lot.
748The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$550.00
1912 PCGS MS-62 (green label).
Patches of ice-blue tone touch the high points of the Indian's portrait, contrasting dramatically with the deeply original russet-gold patina dominating most of the surfaces. Though very common an...
749The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$1,100.00
1912 MS-62.
Somewhat frosty devices are finely textured, yet provide little contrast against similarly textured fields. Strike quality is bold and pleasing.
1102The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,150.00
1912 PCGS MS-63.
A gleaming coin that features prominent frost and a bright apricot-gold appearance. The luster is above average, but the strike slightly deficient for the grade.
1103The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$2,500.00
1912 PCGS MS-64.
The obverse is cleaner than expected of the type, though the reverse is abraded in the vicinity of IN GOD WE TRUST. Perhaps more important to the grade is the very fair mint luster that glimmers...
881The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$1,000.00
1912 NGC MS-62.
The MS-62 grade assigned by NGC seems conservative, given the lack of abrasions or detractions on either side of this quarter-eagle. Worthy of upgrade consideration.
882The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$485.00
1912 NGC MS-62.
The MS-62 grade is consistent with the number and impact of several small marks across each side. A lustrous and attractive coin.
937The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$400.00
1912 and 1927. MS-60.
The 1912 Indian quarter-eagle grades MS-61, and it's companion 1927 grades MS-60. The primary grade determinant in either case is the presence of handling marks, and on the 1927, they are most...
938The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,650.00
1912 PCGS MS-63.
Excellent originality and a reasonably good strike. Several trivial stray hairlines appear at the top of the obverse, but overall, the surfaces are clear of distractions.
866The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$775.00
1912 and 1915 Indian quarter-eagles, NGC MS-61
A pair of Indian quarter-eagles, both graded MS-61 by NGC. The 1912 is unusually bright for the type and struck a bit better than average, while the 1915 glitters with good peach-gold color and...
972The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$250.00
1912 AU-58.
Its exquisite gold surfaces are visually heightened by a delicate rose blush. Some trivial marks are apparent, mainly on its reverse. Both the Indian's headdress and the Eagle's feathers are...
973The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$260.00
1912 NGC MS-61.
Aglow with an exquisite yellow-gold aspect, this date's mattelike surfaces are marred by a few trivial, widely scattered marks. Its motifs are acutely defined.
974The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$2,400.00
1912 NGC MS-64.
An extraordinary run of several different dates of this popular type were acquired for this auction and sent to NGC. Multiples of similar dates in comparable certified grade levels are presented...
975The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$2,400.00
1912 NGC MS-64.
An emboldened reddish orange glow is transmitted from this vivid and sharply struck specimen.
976The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$2,800.00
1912 NGC MS-64.
Superb golden orange surfaces are augmented with bluish green highlights on this scantily marked, well-defined issue.
977The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$3,000.00
1912 NGC MS-64.
A glowing opulent orange hue envelopes this date's velvetlike surfaces. Very minute ticks are viewed on this prominently struck specimen.
978The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$2,400.00
1912 NGC MS-64.
Impeccably lustrous, this superb Quarter Eagle permeates a rich rose-orange glow from its negligibly marked surfaces. It is an impressively struck piece.
397The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$500.00
1912 NGC MS-62.
A super clean coin with attractive toning on both the obverse and reverse. Many less nice coins have been observed in MS-63 holders.
398The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$710.00
1912 NGC MS-62.
This specimen's satinlike surfaces exhibit an undisturbed matte finish embellished with a rose bloom. A bold strike with magnificent eye appeal.
399The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$650.00
1912 NGC MS-62.
This brilliant issue exhibits exquisite orange highlights and is suffused with a rich luster. A very meager number of marks are observed on this boldly struck date.
1033The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$525.00
1912 NGC MS-62.
A satin-like example from this popular series with a warm orange glow. Needle sharp design elements and no detracting contact ticks or blemishes.
1034The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$0.00
1912 PCGS MS-62.
This example displays a satinlike aspect beneath its warm, yellow-orange hue. Light hairlines and minuscule ticks are observed lightly sprinkled on this nicely struck Quarter Eagle.
1035The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$0.00
1912 PCGS MS-62.
An abundance of mint luster radiates from this specimen's lustrous surfaces, which display a vivid orange aspect. The scattered marks discerned are congruous for the assigned grade of this strong...
