(About The Images)
Two 1921 Missouri, both AU. Two 1921 Missouri, both AU.
Lot Title: Two 1921 Missouri, both AU.
Description: Both coins are generally white and definitely attractive, with refreshing bright luster that is tough to locate for the type. In identical fashion, the halves show a touch of friction on Boone's cheek and cap, with the reverses hardly affected at all by wear. A fine duo that will have most bidders seeing double (and undoubtedly bidding double) for this two coin lot. (PCGS# 009330)

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Low Estimate: $725.00
High Estimate: $875.00

1921 Missouri. NGC MS-63.
There have been songs been written that discuss "the difference between what people truly are, and what others perceive them to be". On multiple levels, that describes the modern times perception of...
1090The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$775.00
1921 Missouri. NGC MS-64 (no line).
Collectors who pay but little attention to the commemorative series usually do not realize how difficult it is to find a really nice Missouri, when so many of them suffer questionable luster or...
1091The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$850.00
1921 Missouri. NGC MS-64.
Luster is unexpectedly vibrant for a Missouri, with extensive arms of pinwheeling action spiraling through the fields as the coin tilts to and fro, and unlike many pieces, only delicate toning layers...

1921 Missouri. NGC MS-65.
Sparkling fields display much nicer brilliance than normally seen for the type, touched by peach-gold on the rims, but closer to vanilla-white everywhere else. While generally well struck, the very...

1921 Missouri. PCGS MS-64 (green label).
Undoubtedly well toned at some time, the obverse is presently aluminum-white, while the reverse remains mildly toned in greyish hues, making it noticeably one shade darker. Decent luster propagates...

1921 Missouri. PCGS MS-64 (green label).
Missouri half-dollars often come heavily toned, but the surfaces here exhibit only light to moderate patina, with the reverse half a shade lighter than the obverse. Some very attractive sky-blue...

1921 Missouri. PCGS MS-64.
An interesting presentation of one of the keys to the silver commemorative series, this Missouri displays platinum-beige patina that has considerable underlying luster pushing up through mottled...

1921 Missouri. PCGS MS-63.
Surprisingly nice on the obverse for the grade, with the premium luster and a near-white appearance that is not so easy to find on the Missouri half-dollars. Boone's cheek is abraded as if by slide...
187The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$806.00
1921 Missouri. PCGS MS-64.
Many collectors pursue white early commemorative coins, and the Missouri is one of the more difficult to locate without toning. A PCGS green-label holder holds this one in safety, and has probably...
188The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$2,000.00
1921 Missouri. NGC MS-65.
At first glance, this gem Missouri is quite similar in overall appearance to an MS-66 also found in today's sale. The overall silver brilliance is offset by hints of gold-tan tone lying atop the...
190The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$4,800.00
1921 Missouri. NGC MS-66.
There is no grade in existence for which the Missouri commemorative can be found "flashy", since the manner by which the dies were polished assures limitations on the cartwheel effect of the struck...
433The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$500.00
1921 Missouri. MS-62.
Considerable luster endows this bright Missouri with much the appearance of a frosty UNC, and design elements are sharply defined. Confirming the powerful strike is a raised fin of metal around more...

1921 Missouri. PCGS MS-64.
Nearly preposterous in its depth, a very thick, rich original patina piles high upon this 1921 Missouri, which incidentally is mounted reverse-out in the PCGS rattler slab. The complex tone is...

1119The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$600.00
1921 Missouri. PCGS MS-63.
Very bright central areas yield to peripheral album toning on the obverse and a touch of rim toning on the reverse, and this coin shines with praiseworthy mint luster. Weakness of strike has resulted...

Lovely mint luster permeates all the fields, and lurks beneath a layer of ultra-original cinnamon-tan patina. The creamy smooth surfaces reveal no hairlines whatsoever, and a mere handful of the most...

1248The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$390.00
1921 Missouri. XF-45.
Lots of dark, gritty, grungy, grimy crud has built up across both sides of this Missouri commemorative half dollar, which is very cool! There are collectors who specialize in assembling collections...

1556The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$575.00
1921 Missouri. MS-63.
Light russet peripheral tones accentuate the gunmetal gray surfaces on this popular Commemorative. There are a few light lines on obverse in the fields, but they are barley noticeable.
1557The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$600.00
1921 Missouri. ICG MS-63.
Rose patina covers gunmetal gray surfaces on this well-struck and problem-free coin. The fields are very clean, and the devices are sharp. If this coin were a bit more flashy, it may grade higher.
907The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$300.00
1921 Missouri. AU-55.
This Commemorative is gun-metal gray in color with russet toning on the peripheries of both the obverse and reverse. It has never been played with or altered in any way. There is a bit of wear, but...
