(About The Images)
1911 MS-60. 1911 MS-60.
Lot Title: 1911 MS-60.
Description: MS-60 or perhaps better in spite of a few tiny bagmarks on the Indian's cheek. The strike is slightly flat on some highpoint details, especially the bottom-most feather in the bonnet. (PCGS# 008520)

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

977The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$1,000.00
1911 NGC MS-63.
Very strongly detailed on both sides, the quality seems to be "all there" for MS-63. Indeed, the fields everywhere show a lack of the usual pre-striking abrasions usually seen for the type. A really...
1127The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$900.00
1911 AU details/scraped.
Tantalizing close to mint state, except that the Indian's cheekbone displays a circulation mark, and the eagle's shoulder has faint rub. Still, both sides show luster that is unusually nice for the...
877The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$650.00
1911 MS-62.
Very clean for the MS-62 grade -- even more free from marks than many certified as MS-63 and up. Mint frost fills the fields with vintage gold color, and sharpness is about average.
1090The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$650.00
1911 PCGS MS-62.
Liberal honey-gold color spreads across the fields, providing original character and consistent appeal. About average for MS-62.
1091The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$775.00
1911 ICG MS-63.
A 1911 half-eagle in an ICG MS-63 slab. Personal inspection advised as numerous lines and marks appear more in line with the MS-60 grade.
1184The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,600.00
1911 PCGS MS-63.
Apricot-gold patina dominates each side of this refreshingly unabraded Indian half-eagle. Strike quality seems a touch sharper than usual, and the reverse fields display an abundance of glowing...
1035The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,500.00
1911 NGC MS-62.
Pleasing, matte surface quality tends to subdue the luster, but a good-looking coin for just MS-62. Surprisingly free of flaws or abrasions.
949The Midwest Winter Sale 2008 on 02/08/2008$330.00
1911 Indian half-eagle, NGC AU-58
Appears essentially uncirculated, but a prominent circulation mark in the center of the Indian's cheek denies mint-state status.
1070The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$500.00
1911 NGC MS-61.
Sparkling with luxuriant orange-gold hues, this handsomely struck piece's surfaces manifest a vivid opulence. This radiance almost obscures the randomly strewn surface marks, as well as the one...
1083The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$475.00
1911 NGC MS-61.
Vivid orange-gold surfaces are enhanced by this piece's glistening aspect. The meager number of contact ticks observed are widely strewn and are congruent for this grade level. Its design details...
495The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$700.00
1911 NGC MS-61.
Incredible orange and purple hues blend to give this mattelike Half Eagle a regal aspect. Some trivial contact marks are observed when employing a glass. A specimen with sharp delineated details.
