Lot Title:
1793 Periods After "Liberty". SEGS XF-40.
Description:
This is the very scarce S-4 with the period after the word Liberty. All lettering and detail show clearly, although the surfaces have suffered some corrosion. This has left the surfaces a little wavy. The color is an excellent chocolate brown with very few of the chips and pits normally seen on a cent tagged with the corroded moniker. Always in great demand, so avoid missing this opportunity to acquire a very tough variety.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Despite a considerable level of dark corrosion of both its sides, attribution of this early large-cent is readily confirmed by the presence of the periods after LIBERTY and the date. Indeed, though... |
