(About The Images)
1850 NGC AU-58. 1850 NGC AU-58.
Lot Title: 1850 NGC AU-58.
Description: Ashy yellow patina seems to depict a nicely original coin, and it is certainly a pleasure to see early gold struck so near the beginning of the series with such pleasing, vintage quality. The strike is actually amazingly sharp, and definitely competitive with that seen on coins from the other, more modern end of the series! Minor hairlines seem to define the grade as much as anything, since there is barely any noticeable wear whatsoever. These early coronet gold coins seem too affordable and are all too often ignored by collectors who willingly pay more for well worn silver coins of the same era. (PCGS# 007755)
