Lot Title:
1921 2x4 Missouri. PCGS MS-64 (green label).
Description:
Missouri halves with 2x4 are scarcer than their plain counterparts, and MS-64 represents the upper grade for most examples, with a large jump in value at the next grade. The present example exhibits plenty of platinum-grey patina, accented at the obverse margins with navy-brown and ashy speckles of tone. Sharpness is a little indifferent, with a lack of definition noticeable particularly on the reverse. Some collectors will not be all that fond of the rather spotty toning, but luster remains very strong, and that is not easy to find with these particular commems. (PCGS# 009331)
