Lot Title:
Forty-one three-cent nickels.
Description:
Attributed pieces fall within the date range of 1872 through 1881, with vast concentration from 1872 - 1876. Grouped by date, the coins number as follows: 4x 1872, 5x 1873, 11x 1874, 9x 1875, 8x 1876, 2x 1879, and 2x 1881. While a coin or two may actually reach the UNC details level, and a couple more find their way to AU, by far the grades are bunched into the VF to XF range, which leads to quite a few nice, original and collectable pieces. Forty-one coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
