(About The Images)
1900 PCGS MS-63 CAC. 1900 PCGS MS-63 CAC.
Lot Title: 1900 PCGS MS-63 CAC.
Description: There is not the slightest doubt about vintage surfaces here, since the entire coin bears dusky, powder-gold patina, and there is a fine spray of carbon across much of the obverse. Even a few larger carbon patches remain intact, including a couple of freckles around the ear and several flyspecks above the coronet. If you like 'em to be just like they day they were set aside, you will love this one. (PCGS# 009037)

1002The Midwest Summer Sale 2014 on 07/18/2014$1,350.00
1900 NGC MS-63.
Probably not so-called "PQ" since the obverse displays some abrading in the fields, but really, who cares? The screaming luster and fantastic strike carry the argument for the grade just fine, thank...
981The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$3,400.00
1900 and 1907, both PCGS MS-62 (green label).
1900 shows a couple of trivial copper spots, and a dot or two of darker carbon on the portrait. Both double-eagles display moderate abrasions, but the 1907 seems to be a bit more heavily marked than...
982The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$1,800.00
1900 NGC MS-63.
Amazingly smooth for only MS-63, the surfaces seem to show basically no major marks, although a small scrape flashes into view beneath the hair bun at some angles. A really nice type double-eagle.
989The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,600.00
1900 PCGS MS-62.
No doubt, the zoom-zoom luster elevates expectations, and details are plenty sharp. Some rather modest hairlines delicately sweep across the portrait and may limit the grade, although the reverse is...
990The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,500.00
1900 PCGS MS-62.
A particularly nice, blazing bright reverse appears to be every bit of MS-64, with mostly abrasion-free fields and sensational multi-spoked cartwheel effect. That same marvelous luster spills readily...
991The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,600.00
1900 PCGS MS-62.
The grade teeters on the brink between MS-62 and MS-63 given the elegant luster and scattered minor surface marks. A relatively benign, shallow pinscratch off the lower right of Liberty's portrait...
992The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$3,300.00
Two 1900 PCGS MS-63.
Delightful powder-gold patina drapes both coins in equal proportion, and for that matter, these are nearly twins at first glance. The chance to obtain some unmolested gold certainly should be a...
993The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$3,300.00
Two 1900 PCGS MS-63.
Brassy haze shifts across the obverse of one coin, the impetus for an interesting powdery appearance. The other gleams with bright hue and displays a thin streak through the coronet. Two coin lot.
994The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$1,700.00
1900 PCGS MS-63.
Lovely original patina has sifted across each face and delicately enhances razor-sharp luster. A later die state takes responsibility for the fine satiny texture seen on both sides.
585The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$3,500.00
Two 1900 PCGS MS-62 (rattler).
US Steel Corporation organized on March 3, 1900, and incorporated the following year with capitalization valued at $1.4 billion, making it the world's first billion-dollar corporation. Seventy...
586The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$1,750.00
1900 PCGS MS-62 (rattler).
Liberty's cheek is affected by a patchy grey area, indicative of some pocket abrasion, and a couple of dark flyspecks are flung across the right side of the portrait. Smooth, even luster emanates...
587The Collectors' Auction 2011 on 10/21/2011$2,000.00
1900 PCGS MS-62 (rattler).
A no-question original example with turn-of-the-century die grease still smeared on Liberty's cheek. Details are sharp as can be, and the fields are fresh and clean.
1205The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$4,500.00
1900, 1904, and 1907 Liberty double-eagles PCGS MS-61 (all rattler).
Orange-gold toning thoroughly drenches the surfaces of this trio of common Liberty double eagles. Now, orange you smart for thinking "orange juice"? For that clean and sunny toning, hey orange you...
938The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$4,050.00
1900 AU, 1904 MS-60, and 1907 AU.
Common date double eagles make up sixty dollars in face - quite a pocket full of chump change back in the day. All are lustrous and well struck coins, listed as follows: 1900 (MS-61), 1904 (MS-61...
939The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$4,200.00
1900, 1904, and 1907, all NGC MS-62.
NGC has graded each coronet double eagle in this trio MS-62, and in each case, the grade is suitable. 1900 is the best of the lot, satin-smooth with no more than the expected abrasions for the grade,...
940The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$2,800.00
1900 PCGS MS-62 (green label), and a 1924 Saint-Gaudens NGC MS-62.
Good ol' American gold encapsulated by the premier grading services continues to be a driving factor in today's market. This pair of double eagles (does that make a double-double eagle?) consists of...
941The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$2,000.00
1900 NGC MS-63.
Pursuit of gold coins with fully original surfaces is a challenging exercise in a market that favors dipped gold and coins with copper spots removed prior to certification, but the appeal of vintage...
1162The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$1,250.00
1900 NTC MS-64 [cataloger grade, MS-62].
Grading by some companies, such as the present Numistrust Corporation, is often justifiably frowned down upon, since their grading standards are usually neither consistent nor compatible with the...
883The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$2,100.00
1900 MS-60.
Splendid golden glow radiates from velvety surfaces. Quite possibly a grade of one or two points higher than what has been ascribed grade should be considered! The obverse exhibits a few trivial...
884The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$2,600.00
1900 and 1904 PCGS MS-62.
The 1900 is a well struck example with the frequency of marks expected at the assigned grade level. A cluster of dark toning flecks concentrated around the eagle's left wing is seen on the reverse. ...
834The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$1,200.00
1900 MS-60.
Citrus-gold and likely grading a point or two higher than MS-60. However, this such a common issue that one should hardly split hairs over grade.
1242The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,625.00
1900 MS-62.
Perhaps consideration can be given for MS-63, as this sparkling jewel beams with lightning fast cartwheel luster and lacks any major blemishes. The fields are unusually clean, though Liberty's...
1110The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,150.00
1900 NGC MS-62.
A truly admirable strike nearly carries this coin into the realm of "choice", but alas, the surfaces show just a trifle too much bag friction to allow for the upgrade. A nice, original coin that...
1161The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$1,450.00
1900 NGC MS-64.
Superbly struck and glowing from its satiny surfaces. Although evidence of die crumbling is seen on areas of the obverse's rims, Liberty's cheek is fairly smooth.
1153The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$825.00
1900 NGC MS-63.
This last year issue of the nineteenth century is admirably radiant. Exhibiting a spectacular yellow-gold glow that practically obliterates the light sprinkle of ticks present. All its design...
1154The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$1,100.00
1900 NGC MS-64.
This issue radiates a splendid golden glow from its exceptional satiny surfaces. A scant number of insignificant marks are widely dispersed on this superbly struck specimen.
1045The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$2,500.00
Three 1900 NGC MS-63.
Lustrous, original examples that are all lovely examples of the MS-63 grade. None of the three show any of the dark toning spots sometimes associated with this issue.
595The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$725.00
1900 PCGS MS-63.
Strong detail throughout with gorgeous honey gold surfaces and lovely spinning luster. The marks are what you would expect for the assigned grade.
596The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,350.00
1900 PCGS MS-64.
Displaying needle sharp details on its design elements, this satiny issue glows with a rich golden aspect. The contact ticks and light scuffs are masked by the cartwheel emanating from its surfaces.
1212The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$1,225.00
1900 NGC MS-64.
This is a super nice Double Eagle with minimal marks and not one distraction. Its color is bright and free of copper spots. This is an excellent coin that could be in an MS-65 holder.
1213The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$1,225.00
1900 NGC MS-64.
This coin has the luster of an MS-66. Its color is bold and free of copper spots. The cheek does have some marks, but they are average for the grade.
