1940 Reverse of 1938. NGC PF-67.

Description:
|
Reverse of 1938 is most easily identified by the "wavy steps" on Monticello, whereas the far more common "reverse of 1940" features straight lines all the way across the steps. An example graded PF-68 recently sold for nearly thirty-thousand dollars, which will undoubtedly make this PF-67 example look like a stunning bargain by comparison. Population reports for NGC reveal that only nine have ever seen this grade level, with just one(!) higher. (PCGS# 038540)
