Lot Title:

Complete set (minus 1898-S) of Barber dimes in a Whitman 9412 album.
|
Description:
|
The only coin missing from the set, oddly enough, is the 1898-S, which is hardly a tough issue in the Barber Dime series. Purchase one off the bourse for thirty bucks, and the set is done. Amazingly, every single coin that is included (which is all minus the 1898-S) has a legible LIBERTY on the headband, with the only exception to that seemingly 1897-S, which grades about VG+. In addition, virtually every single coin by a huge majority appears to be original, thoroughly dominated by normal, natural looking grey coins. 1895-O looks like a perfect F+ except for a brilliantish highlight on the cheek which could very well be a slide mark. An immensely attractive collection that can be instantly complete, and which has spectacularly attractive keys and semi-keys. From the Broken Hearts Consignment. Seventy-three coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
