Lot Title:
Complete set of Franklin half-dollars.
Description:
Mintmarked coins are presented with reverse facing upward in a (c) 1968 Whitman folder, which eases the task of looking for FBL examples of the more difficult issues. The consignor must have had an eye for luster, since all these coins have blazing cartwheels, with no more than a light touch of rim toning noticeable for all but a couple. The 1948-D appears to be the only coin that may be a slider, as all the rest are clearly going to grade MS-63 at minimum, with 1949-S apparently fully MS-65 or better. A really nice, simple, clean presentation. Thirty-five coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
