(About The Images)
1846-O VF details/cleaned/G counterstamp, 1869 XF details/graffiti/cleaned, and an 1870 Good. 1846-O VF details/cleaned/G counterstamp, 1869 XF details/graffiti/cleaned, and an 1870 Good.
Lot Title: 1846-O VF details/cleaned/G counterstamp, 1869 XF details/graffiti/cleaned, and an 1870 Good.
Description: A cheap trio of silver dollars covers three decades of the Seated Liberty design. 1846-O has a "G" counterstamp on both sides atop VF details, and 1869 has "40 north st" crudely engraved in the left field, accompanying XF details (and a hint of prooflike quality). 1870 is an honest G-4. Three coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

793The Collectors' Auction 2013 on 10/18/2013$1,100.00
1846-O PCGS XF-45.
Mintage: 59,000. Extensive navy-grey patina suppresses any retained luster, but also dictates an exceptionally original appearance for this low mintage dollar. Surfaces show hardly any contact at...
495The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$1,150.00
1846-O AU.
For the collector that need not have only haughty mint-state coins, this gorgeous AU-55 ranks very high on the "Wow!" scale. Each side is deeply blushed with crimson-magenta tone that evolves...
841The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$360.00
1846-O VF/cleaned.
A thoroughly cleaned VF that clearly glitters too easily for a coin with this much wear, and numerous lines are obvious. At least part of each letter in LIBERTY shows.
712The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$975.00
1846-O AU/cleaned.
Overly bright surfaces provide evidence of a past cleaning, though they are not badly hairlined by any means. The strike is actually very decent for a New Orleans dollar, and a slender ring of gold...
551The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$1,450.00
1846-O AU, cleaned.
A foolish notion to lightly polish what must have previously been a wonderful 1846-O Seated Liberty dollar has resulted in a coin that is now overly bright and unnaturally reflective. Only briefly...
552The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$4,400.00
1846-O ANACS MS-61.
1846 was the first silver dollar that saw production in New Orleans. This example offers prooflike reflectivity and mildly frosted devices, and is actually decently struck for a denomination that...
