Lot Title:
1800 NCS VG details/damaged.
Description:
While it is far from uncommon for early half-dimes to have been damaged over the centuries, that seen here is not as drastic as one might expect. Surfaces display nice, natural grey and charcoal color, but there is a dent just beneath Liberty's chin, and a couple of small digs left of her hair curls. Some old scratches can also be seen off the end of the eagle's left (observed) wingtip. Sharpness is much closer to Fine than the VG-details grade noted on the NCS slab. (PCGS# 004264)
