Lot Title:
1896 NGC MS-64.
Description:
The luster which travels through the fields is nothing short of impressive, and rivals that of any gem. Liberty's portrait is affected by shallow scrapes from coin-to-coin contact, but the low-contrast brightness diminishes their effect almost to nothing. The reverse appears to be completely free from contact. (PCGS# 005613)

Mostly steam-white patina shimmers over luster that is far stronger than expected of MS-62. Consideration for the point downgrade from "choice" stems from a few too many abrasions on Liberty's cheek,... |
