Lot Title:
Eleven Washington quarter varieties certified by ANACS.
Description:
Old, small format ANACS holders display attributions for this group of Washington quarters, as well as grades that all appear consistent with common sense. The quarters are listed as: 1934 "light motto" (MS-64), 1941 DDO die-4 (MS-65), 1942 DDO die-4 (MS-63), 1942 DDO die-3 (MS-62, but the consignor notes that this actually a DDR), 1943-D DDO (MS-61, and DDO 2-0-I per the consignor), 1944 DDO die-2 (MS-64, WDDO-003 per the consignor), 1943-S DDO die-1, FS-017 (AU and a really nice doubled-die, best in this lot), 1948 DDO (MS-64, and 4-0-I per the consignor), 1953-D/S FS-022.3 (MS-63 and an absolutely outstanding over-mintmark), 1956-D FS-022.4 (MS-63), and 1963 DDO & DDR FS-024 (MS-64). While several of these display only minor doubling, only modest magnification is required to find the characteristics for each coin, thanks in part to the generally high grade and quality of each. Eleven coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
