Lot Title:
1806 (C-1, R.1) XF, 1835 (C-2, R.1) AU, and 1854 Uncirculated details/cleaned/questionable color.
Description:
Different types of half-cents comprise this trio, the earlier pieces being nice selections. 1806 C-1 grades XF, yet actually has some tinges of original mint red. A few green spots affect the eye-appeal. 1835 C-2 has the sharpness of XF-45 and no major problems, but some sort of residue needs to be conserved. Finally, 1854 C-1 has been carefully whizzed, possibly to smooth minor defects, and has sharpness of AU-50. Three coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

A nifty trio of half-cents, all with much stronger details than average for circulated pieces. 1806 C-1 has nice XF details, or very close to it, and also decent olive-brown patina, but close... |

The large "6" merges into the bust, all that is required to attribute C-4, with die-state I easy to identify by the strong repunching of that digit. This simply has to be a member of the hoard that... |
