Lot Title:
1859 (Valentine-1) NGC MS-64.
Description:
Honey-gold patina is flanked by vertical bands of indigo-blue tone on either side of the obverse, and fully enclosed by a wide ring of similar color on the reverse. All four digits in the date are nicely repunched north, as described for Valentine-1. While the colorful presentation is certainly pretty, there are a couple of minor scratches that must be noted for accuracy beneath DIME on the reverse. (PCGS# 004371)

A pleasing type piece with impressive red-gold hues on the obverse, and blue-gold reverse toning. A few toning flecks on a decently struck type coin. |
