Lot Title:

1800 10 Arrows (B-15, BB-195, R.4). PCGS VF-30.
Description:
BB-195 is currently assigned an R.4 rarity rating, but it is popular as the "10 arrows" Redbook variety, meaning they are more difficult to locate than the rarity would imply. Finer details persist on Liberty's portrait, with most of the wear at her upper hair and the bottom of the bust. All of the eagle's feathers are present, with some wear apparent on his neck and inner wing feathers. The overall countenance is perhaps half a shade more pale than ideal, as if the coin had been gently and harmlessly washed at some point, with a pewter-grey aspect that most collectors will find pleasing. A handful of greyish spots cluster toward the upper edge of the obverse, and provide the only minor distraction, while the reverse is consistently attractive. (PCGS# 040080)
