Lot Title:
1938-S Arkansas. PCGS MS-66.
Description:
Arkansas half-dollars are notorious for low standards of production and preservation, but this 1938-S is much nicer than the average example. Arching over the obverse portraits is a pleasing stripe of tobacco-green toning that offers respite from the overall steam-grey patina. Far fewer contact marks than usual are noticeable even with persistent examination, except for a few ticks clustered at the Indian's lips, and the reverse has carefully avoided any but the most remote signs of handling. A terrific very-gem commem! (PCGS# 009247)
