(About The Images)
1923-S PCGS MS-65 (green label). 1923-S PCGS MS-65 (green label).
Lot Title: 1923-S PCGS MS-65 (green label).
Description: A broad swath of almond-beige toning dominates the obverse, sweeping down from upper-left to lower-right, and avoiding only the fringes of everything that stands in its way. Less of this same tone makes its way to the reverse, where about three-quarters of the original silvery radiance remains. A thin die-crack snakes it's way above the first couple of digits in the date, and traverses the bottom of Liberty's neck. In high grade, 1923-S is one of the true rarities in the Peace dollar series, and population reports bear this out. PCGS has graded 112 at MS-65, but incredibly only three have ever graded higher, and this one is in a PCGS green-label holder. (PCGS# 007362)
